WHAT’S UNDER YOUR FEET

Friday, 9/17/10 

Come discover what lives right under your feet. We’ll look under logs and leaves to count how many different bugs make their home in the woods. An adult companion must attend. Registration is required by 9/16/10.

A.S.S.E.R.T. for Preschoolers

ASSERT for preschoolers is a great way for parents to give their children practical child safety skills without being scary or threatening. In the class children discover they have personal safety super power to recognize safe adults, use their assertive powers, and how to make smart decisions so they can have a great life. Topics covered are recognizing tricks, using your voice, and much more.  A.S.S.E.R.T. Kids: Active & Simple Safety Education Response Training for Kids

This informative and interactive personal safety program will dramatically increase your child’s ability to stay safe by teaching your child how to get help when in trouble, how to identify “bad” action/people, how to say “no” and mean it, how to respond to a bully and much, much more. Nature Club

Are you a nature fan? Come after school to learn the basics of being a young naturalist. Each month you’ll learn something different about the natural world. We will focus on reptiles in September, bats in October, and birds of prey in November.  Register by 8/31/10, 10/12/10, or 11/11/10.

Ages: 7-10

TEEN PIZZA PARTY

Friday, 10/15/10

Spend time hanging out with your friends on your school day off. Pizza, soda, snacks, and board games to play will be provided during the party. Register by 10/13/10.

Ages: 5th–8th graders

Time: 1–3pm

TRICKS AND TREATS 

Friday, 10/29/10

Show off your costume and have some Halloween fun. Play games, sing silly songs and make Halloween crafts. An adult companion must attend. Register by 10/28/10.

Babysitting Class  

Friday, 11/12/10 (Register by 11/5/10)

This course equips young people to handle the job of babysitting, including essential care-giving and decision-making skills, safety skills to prevent and respond to emergencies and tips on finding and interviewing for babysitting jobs. Participants receive an American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Certificate. A babysitter handbook, emergency reference guide, a CD Rom and backpack are also provided at the end of the class. Taught by an authorized Red Cross instructor. Bring a sack lunch, a baby doll and a toy.

Age: 11 – 15

Cost: $55.00 with Babysitter’s Backpack

TURKEY TROT

Friday, 11/19/10

Join us for a Thanksgiving celebration! Play turkey games, make fall crafts and harvest some holiday fun. An adult companion must attend. Register by 11/18/10.
