KNITTERS 4 BEGINNERS!

This class is designed to be a relaxed fun program for kids to learn a hands-on craft that is a lot of fun without being messy or relying on a parent; and knitting is a positive hobby they will have for years to come! Knitting helps with fine motor skills, brain development and relaxation.  Register by 12/29/11 or 1/3/12.

Ages: 8-15

Cost: $12.00 to cover take home supplies

KNITTING 4 LIVING GROUP

Thursdays, 1/5/12-3/29/12

Knitting gets both sides of your brain communicating in a relaxing stress reducing action. Whether you are knitting for relaxation, charity or to save some money on gifts this upcoming holiday season this is the group for you. All skill levels welcome; we can all learn something from each other. Registration by 3pm the day before all meetings; the group will not meet if there are no signups. Knitting experience required.

Ages: 8 - adults

Time: 4pm-5:30pm

Cost: FREE event

KNITTERS 4 QUITTERS

Did your granny drop the yarn ball when trying to teach you knit years ago?! Don’t give up, it’s not too late to learn! The truth is ANYONE can learn the basics of knitting in one session, no exceptions! We will be there along the way to help you start creating useful pieces one stitch at a time! This pressure free class will be taught by instructor Alison Jenks who has been an avid knitter since she was 8 years old; she has also been teaching numerous men, women young and old how to knit since 2002. Register by 1/10/12.

Ages: 16-116

Time: 4:30-5:30pm

Big Shot Class

Thursday, 1/19/12 at 6:30-8:30pm

The Big Shot is so versatile and easy to use for your scrapbooks, cards, and other handmade items. There are countless ways to use it! You will make a minimum of three great projects at each class. You do not need to own the Big Shot to take this class, so it is a great way to learn how you can utilize it before making a purchase. Register by 1/13/12.

KNITTING 102: now let’s try round!

Thursdays, 1/19/12 or 2/9/12

Now that you have been knitting scarves and rectangular fabrics for a while, it is time to learn how to keep your head and toes warm! You will learn the basics to knit on round needles in order to create comfy hats and other three dimensional knitting projects. You will need to provide your own yarn for your project. Please register by 1/16/12, or 2/6/12.

Ages: 16-116

Time: 5-5:45pm

Cost: $8.00 to cover take home round needles

Scrapbooking for Teens

Wednesday, 2/15/12

If you love crafts, you will be sure to enjoy this class. We will create a minimum of four scrapbook pages using a variety of techniques and papers. This class is designed to inspire young crafters. Feel free to bring your photos to class. Please bring your favorite scissors and adhesive. Register by 2/10/12.

Ages: 11-18

Time: 4:30-6:30pm

CREATIVE CARDS & TAGS

Learn exciting and creative techniques for making handmade cards and tags. This class is designed to teach everything from the basics to more advanced techniques that may include stamping, embossing,chalks, watercolor, and masking. Individuals will make and take a minimum of three projects in each class. Join us as we explore techniques that may be used for cards, tags or other projects. Instructions will be provided for future reference. Please bring your favorite scissors and adhesive. Register by 2/17/12.

Paper Crafts for Teens

Wednesday, 3/7/12

If you love crafts, you will be sure to enjoy this class. We will use the Big Shot and a variety of products to create boxes, cover journals, and other creative projects. This class is designed to inspire young crafters. This is a wonderful opportunity to get inspired and learn new techniques using paper. Please bring your favorite scissors and adhesive. Register by 3/2/12.

Holiday Card Class

Wednesday, 3/21/12 at 10am-12:30pm

Thursday, 3/22/12 at 6-8:30pm

If you enjoy making and/or sending handmade cards, this class is for you! We will be making 16 cards for the upcoming holidays; four cards each of four different designs. The cards can be bundled to give as a gift or used to send to someone special. Please bring your favorite scissors and adhesive. All other supplies, including envelopes will be supplied. Register by 3/16/12.
