Container Water Gardening: Creating a soothing, mini-aquatic garden that will embellish your deck, patio or entryway

Perennial garden design: The garden that comes back year after year

Have an old, tired perennial bed you want to redesign or an empty space you want to turn into a perennial garden? Pat Torvik, Greene County Master Gardener will explain how to use design principles to create a new and interesting perennial garden. Registration is encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome.

Building a Home Rain Barrel: Understanding the Management of Rainwater in your Yard

Come to learn about the benefits, site selection, maintenance and construction of a rain barrel. This informative program will be presented by Greene County Soil and Water Conservation. Rain barrels, supplies and guidance will be available to participants with paid registration is due by 5/3/13. We will have a limit of 40 barrels available, walk–ins are welcome to attend and learn the process.

Rain gardens: A practical and economical approach to understanding the what’s, why’s and how’s of managing the rain water in your yard

Garden Insects: The Good and the Bad

We’ll cover various ways herbs are used and basic gardening tips for growing herbs. 10 common herbs will also be discussed, including a description, use, and growing environment for each herb.
