Athletic & Park Operations Manager

 
Position Overview: This position is responsible for the coordination, completion, implementation and overall maintenance of park operations with a focus on athletic field management.
 
Job Functions
  • Participates directly in all manual labor and planning functions pertaining to park maintenance, grounds keeping, etc.
  • Serves as a liaison with designated sports groups, including meeting attendance and continuous communication with sport group representatives.
  • Manages project scope and resources with a focus on field maintenance.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other park personnel to prioritize projects.
  • Plans and implements Preventive Maintenance Programs for areas of responsibility.
 
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of athletic/facility design specifications and maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to critically assess situations, problem-solve, maintain attention to detail, work within deadlines, and respond quickly to changes in work priorities.
  • Experience with government purchasing requirements and bid processes.
 
Additional Requirements:
  • Secondary education in the field of natural resources or closely related and a minimum of five years experience working in park maintenance, natural resource management, turf management, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and direct experience may be considered.
  • A valid State of Ohio driver’s license is a condition of initial and continued employment in this position. 
  • Commercial Certified Pesticide Applicator license for the State of Ohio.
  • Any employment offers are conditional upon completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and driving record checks.

Seasonal Maintenance Technician 

 
Position Overview:
This position will perform a variety of tasks which include, but are not limited to, mowing, trimming and general park and facility maintenance. Approximately 32-40 hours per week. This position requires availability through Summer 2020, Monday thru Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a few evenings and weekends.  Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid state driver’s license.
 
Job Functions
This position will perform routine manual work consisting of a wide variety of parks maintenance and custodial tasks for the Bellbrook Sugarcreek Park District. 
 
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills required.
  • Secondary education and/or experience working in park maintenance, landscaping, turf management, or another related field preferred.
Special Conditions
  • A valid State of Ohio driver’s license is a condition of initial and continued employment in this position. 
  • This position frequently works in outdoor facilities including forests, fields and creeks and outdoor conditions including the heat within reason.
  • Some evening and weekend shifts are required of this position.
