Conserved Parkland

Some properties within the Bellbrook Sugarcreek Park District are intentionally maintained as conserved parkland with limited public access. These lands are preserved to protect natural resources, maintain open green space, and honor partnerships with local families and other agencies who share in the vision of long term conservation.

In many cases, these properties were acquired or protected through collaborative efforts, where preservation was the priority. By limiting access, we are able to safeguard sensitive environments, reduce long term maintenance impacts, and ensure these spaces remain undeveloped in an area experiencing continued growth. As a result, these sites do not include designated public parking or developed access points like our traditional parks.

These conserved lands play an important role in protecting the character of our community, providing natural buffers, supporting wildlife habitat, and preserving open space for future generations.

Some of these conserved parklands include:

Possum Run Park - Possum Run Park is a 16.7 acre preserved streamside forest encompassing a portion of Possum Run, a tributary of Little Sugar Creek. The land was acquired from Sugarcreek Township in 1987.

Berryhill Park - Berryhill Park is 39.8 acres of preserved open space located near the northwest the corner of Centerville Road and Waynesville Road. The property was acquired from Sugarcreek Township in 2002.

Fecher Reserve - Fecher Reserve is 26.9 acres of preserved woodland located near Swigart Road and I-675. It was acquired in 2016 as a Clean Ohio grant in collaboration with the Fecher family.
