Keiter Reserve (1770 Little Sugarcreek Road, Bellbrook) is 2.9 acres of open space adjacent to Magee Park. The property was acquired in 2021 from long time resident Edna Mae Keiter through a Clean Ohio Fund grant. The Park District has utilized Clean Ohio grants to preserve several other properties, including Brookview Reserve, Morris Reserve, Bieser Reserve, and Fecher Reserve. Administered by the State of Ohio’s Public Works Commission, these funds support the acquisition and improvement of land for passive recreation.
In coordination with the City of Bellbrook, the Park District expanded the acquisition to include additional adjacent parcels encompassing a portion of Possum Run, Little Sugar Creek and the surrounding riparian corridor. This acquisition supports stream protection and creates unique opportunities for environmental education.
A pedestrian bridge was constructed as part of this collaborative effort to provide a direct connection between Keiter Reserve and Magee Park, reflecting a shared commitment to preserving and connecting community green space.
